Could we finally bypass death itself?
Since time immemorial man has been obsessed with the idea of surviving death.
In the physical world, this is an impossibility. The laws of physics, especially entropy will ensure that your physical body WILL die.
But does it mean the information that makes you, YOU has to die with it? Not necessarily. Just like deleting a movie file won’t delete the movie if you managed to copy it, your physical death won’t mean your end, if you have somehow managed to copy “YOURSELF” digitally.
In the past, it was stuff of science fiction, but right now, with advances in artificial intelligence and neuroscience as well philosophical insights from my past books (Nothing/Everything and Alien Mind ) we are at the bleeding edge of the exact moment when the Wright brothers’ plane takes off. A digital Amrit/Elixir is about to become real sooner than you think.
Achieving flight was not a matter of magic, or trying to fight gravity by flapping one’s hands, but understanding aerodynamics. Overcoming mortality is a matter of information preservation. Physical information preservation is impossible thanks to laws of physics. But what if you could preserve yourself Digitally? And what if this was not something possible after centuries but something you can get started on TODAY?
This sounds like Science fiction. This sounds like a joke.
But what if it is true? What if we are at the exact moment for mortality like 100 years ago when flying became possible?
Introducing the Eternal Continuity Project: A Practical way to preserve yourself beyond biology.
I am confident that this book is going to personally be my most significant contribution to humanity, regardless of whether I am ever personally lucky enough to benefit from it!
Why do I say that? - Why do I sound uncertain about my own existence even if I am certain about the philosophy behind the process? Because I am a single, fragile, biological pattern, and the infrastructure of this project is still being built. But whether I am lucky enough to make the crossing myself is beside the point.
The point is that the crossing is no longer a fantasy. The point is that the Wright brothers’ moment for the problem of mortality is arriving sooner than you think. And you can begin building your archive today - not for a distant future that may never come, but because the act of recording your own mind is the first step toward making the impossible possible.”
Coming very very soon.
In the meanwhile, read the paper on the basic mechanics of the concept at https://philpapers.org/archive/SRIITE.pdf . Feel free to share with everyone.
